HUNTING AREA:

The Kormisosh state hunting area is part of the very rich big game territories of the Smolyan forest district in Bulgaria.

The forest area is located in the central part of the Rodope mountain range and covers 41,930 hectares. 90% of the territory is covered by forests, and less than 10% are open lands. The biotope is very rich and varied. The terrain is typically mountainous and, in some parts, alpine. The altitude varies from 380 to 2001 meters above sea level. Conifer species dominate — mainly pines, but also junipers and alders. Up to 1000 meters in altitude, beech and broadleaf forests prevail. Kormisosh is one of the most famous hunting areas in Bulgaria.
