The Hunt:
Hunting period: April - May
During the hunt, snowmobiles are used to move around the hunting area. The hunter rides as a passenger while the guide drives, and hunting takes place from early morning until night. With the snowmobile, distances of between 50 and 100 kilometers are covered each day. The average shooting distance is 200 meters.
The Hunting Area:
The hunting area is located in the southeastern region of Ust Bolsheretsk, in Kamchatka. The base camp is situated near Lake Galygino. The south is the best area to find large bears, as it is close to the coast and where bears have more food.
Accommodation
The camps are wooden houses with heating, featuring double rooms, a bathroom, dining room, and living room. Electricity is provided by a generator.
Suggested itinerary:
- Day 1: Arrival in Moscow. Formalities at the airport and overnight in Moscow.
- Day 2: Flight to Petropavlovsk (8 hours)
- Day 3: Arrival in Petropavlovsk, helicopter transfer to the camp (1 hour)
- Days 4-11: 8 days of hunting
- Day 12: Helicopter to Petropavlovsk and overnight in a hotel there
- Day 13: Flight back to Moscow and return home
