Driven Hunt in the Sierra de Casasolilla
Serradilla, Cáceres, España
Driven Hunt in Casasolilla (Sierra). One must travel to Serradilla to enjoy this area known as La Sierra, aptly named, within the spectacular renowned finca of Casasolilla. It features a steep mountainous section filled with brush, endless gorse, and mixed cork oaks. Typically, hunting takes place over two consecutive days, with this being the first as it is the most challenging part, where all the stands are natural and have great shooting lanes, ensuring full safety and magnificent visibility to facilitate the selection of the game among the large herds that the finca hosts. There is a predominance of a large number of mouflons and deer, with fallow deer being the least abundant. The good thing about this driven hunt is that all three species (deer, fallow deer, and mouflons) are present with a very good average quality of hunting, and every year some trophy-worthy animals are taken, along with some very pleasant surprises. The hunters will have a personal quota of three animals (a maximum of one mouflon), free wild boars, and some management females.
