Driven Hunt in El Corchito
Jerez de los Caballeros, Badajoz, España
Driven Hunt at El Corchito. A peculiar estate located in the municipality of Jerez de los Caballeros. Specifically, between the town itself and its district of Brovales, this open estate is imminently attractive for wild boar. The estate consists of a valley between the "La Cantera" mountain range of the Señorío de la Granja estate and Los Vidales, crossed by the stream of Pontón commonly known as Brovales. It mainly relies on the nearly four kilometers of brambles along the stream where wild boars seek refuge, in addition to the morrón of the "Coto de la Pared Alta," with a dense patch of olive trees, as well as the part of the Sierra bordering Los Vidales, where wild boars roam freely. Typically, hunting is done with forty positions, all of them natural, with shorter shooting lanes in the crossings, with positions visible to each other but completely safe, with the closures set wider and more comfortable. Between twelve and fifteen packs are usually released to sweep the area and drive the wild boars out of the thick brambles and patches of olive trees, offering an entertaining day with abundant barks.
