El Machado, a beautiful estate located very close to Monesterio (Badajoz), is once again the setting for one of those traditional driven hunts that year after year maintain their appeal and offer good results.

The estate consists of a large ridge and two deep ravines, mainly covered by low scrub of rockroses. In the middle area, eucalyptus and pine forests appear, while the higher parts, with open terrain and dotted with large boulders, contrast with the beautiful dehesa that extends at the foot of the mountain range. A set of habitats that makes El Machado a magnificent refuge for big game hunting.

Hunting will take place with approximately 65 stands, all of them natural and perfectly adapted to the estate's topography. Medium and short shooting spots predominate in clearings and paths, although we will also find stands among boulders and some wider positions in the dehesa's enclosures. A driven hunt for all-terrain hunters, where each position can offer a completely different opportunity.

The estate has been hunted by the same organization for over a decade, achieving good results season after season and demonstrating the consistency of this area.

The hunters will come without a quota, being able to take 2 stags and wild boars without a quota, in addition to the authorized hinds, in a day that promises intensity, variety of opportunities, and all the essence of traditional driven hunting.

Se escucharon disparos pero me tocó en una traviesa en medio de un carril en el que solo se veía el propio carril. Imposible disparar aunque me hubiera entrado algo, que no fue así. Solo entraros dos ciervas que yo no tiro. Para colmo, en la comida había que pagar la bebida aparte quitando una botella de vino que había en la mesa para diez personas. La calidad de lo que vi que iba entrando antes de irme, bastante floja. No se si después entró algo mas decente. Y mas gente que en la guerra. No merece la pena.

Lo único medio bueno fue la comida quitando el detalle de que había que pagar la bebida. Esto es la primera vez que lo veo en mi vida.

La cacería bien en el sentido de que la mancha estaba bien cuidada y y había bastantes animales. El postor mal. No nos dió indicaciones sobre el puesto y debía haber ido más despacio en el trayecto. El puesto que nos tocó el 10 del cierre de pedruegano mal colocado pues apenas teníamos tiradero a la derecha. A la izquierda imposible tirar por qué hacíamos viso y encima teníamos otro puesto "extra" aque no aparecía en la armada. Lo peor es que había un exceso de puestos. Pero bueno esto pasa en muchas orgánicas en las que prima el ganar dinero. Todo esto repercute en la seguridad. Yo por mi parte tuve mucha suerte por qué pude matar una gran cochina
