Sika deer stalking in France on an estate with a 13th-century family castle featuring some of the most impressive species we can find in France. The estate is located near Pradinas.

The sika deer (Cervus sika nippon) is native to Japan. The Mikado (Japanese emperor) presented the first sika deer to France in 1890. Since then, French sika deer populations have increased significantly, and this species is now considered a French game species. The weight of this small deer species does not exceed 60 kg. The sika deer is a beautiful animal, black during winter and brown with white spots during summer. During the rut, from September to October, it whistles almost like a moose. Its antlers are filled with pearls and rarely have more than eight tines. In the Laplanque hunting park, some sika deer have 10 to 12 tines.
