Driven Hunt at La Baltasala – Huelva
The estate of La Baltasala, located on the border between Huelva and Extremadura, is part of the prestigious hunting ground of Picorotos, divided into three emblematic areas: La Baltasala, Los Limones, and El Capitán. It is one of the most traditional driven hunts in the area, where nature, hunting, and landscape combine to offer an unforgettable day.
The area consists of a large dehesa bordering Portugal on its western edge and separated from the estate Las Pilas, in Badajoz, by the Ardila River. The terrain alternates between open areas and cleared scrubland of rockroses, with two large streams that flow into the river, forming thick bramble patches, oleander thickets, and tamujares where wild boars find a perfect refuge.
All the stands are natural, with average shooting distances between oaks and gentle undulations of the terrain that provide very entertaining shots, as well as excellent visibility, comfort, and total safety throughout the day.
La Baltasala is a very attractive area for quality deer, with large specimens commonly appearing each season. This is complemented by a good population of wild boars, which find an ideal habitat in the streams and bramble patches, offering numerous shots during the development of the driven hunt.
The combination of an estate with enormous tradition, a privileged environment next to the Ardila River, and careful game management makes La Baltasala one of the most attractive driven hunts on the calendar for lovers of open driven hunting.
Without a doubt, a magnificent opportunity to enjoy driven hunting in its purest form, in one of the most emblematic hunting enclaves in the southwestern peninsula.
